Lana Grossa Silkhair yarn

What is Lana Grossa Silkhair?

Lana Grossa Silkhair is a very fine and lightweight yarn made from 70% Superkid Mohair and 30% silk. The long, soft fibres give knitted garments a fluffy appearance, while the silk adds strength and a subtle sheen. One ball weighs 25 grams and has a length of approximately 210 metres. Silkhair is generally knitted with needles of around 4.5 to 5 mm, depending on the pattern and the desired result.

What can you knit with Lana Grossa Silkhair? This yarn is suitable for lightweight sweaters, cardigans, scarves, shawls and lace patterns. You can use Silkhair with a single strand for a fine and airy fabric, or knit with two or more strands to create extra volume. It is also often combined with another yarn to make the finished garment softer, warmer and fluffier.

How do you choose the right Lana Grossa Silkhair?

How many balls of Silkhair do you need? This depends on the size, the design, the stitch pattern and the number of strands used together. Always check the recommended yarn quantity and knit a tension swatch before starting. Colour also affects the final result: lighter shades emphasise the airy character of the yarn, while darker or brighter colours create a more pronounced look.
